Steve has been involved in the technical side of theatre productions for nearly 20 years, preferring to stay behind the scenes rather than being in the limelight. He started his career as an electrician, followed by electro-mechanical engineer, draughtsman and IT consultant and now works in an IT networks department for a large retailer.
His first introduction to the 'dark side' was as a member of the Stage Crew for the local Scout and Guide Gang Shows where he became a dab-hand at scene changes. He then crossed to the Technical Crew where he found himself rigging the lighting and sound and operating followspots. This then turned into Technical Direction and Stage Management with a crew of volunteers to manage and a list of local groups requiring his range of expertise for their shows.
Roles undertaken:
Karen performed on stage as a leading lady in two local Scout Group pantomimes in her teens before meeting Steve. She rapidly crossed to the 'dark side' and hasn't looked back.
Her main role in the team over the years has been as Lighting desk programmer/operator and Assistant Stage Manager but she has also performed many other roles as required so is quite flexible in productions. One extremely important role Karen has is ensuring that the kitchen flightcase and chocolate box are stocked and ready for each show as a fed and watered happy crew are a good crew :-)
Karen has worked at a large local University since 1992 where she is currently a Campaign Performance and Evaluation Manager - an experienced database programmer (sas) managing a team of staff who provide management information. One of her previous roles was as a trainer for the in-house database management information system. She is also the webmaster for this site and enjoys making 'things' in her spare time including greetings cards which can be seen on our sister site HIPPOFROG DESIGNS.

Ziggy (Andrew to his parents) has been invovled in the 'dark side' of theatre since he was in Middle School when he lit the nativity to avoid starring in it!
Since then, Ziggy has lit many shows from amateur productions to shows in London Theatres. He is happiest behind a lighting desk or at the controls of a pyrotechnic detonator.
He worked as a ride operator at a large theme park for several seasons and has also held temporary posts at a TV station.

Rob started his involvement with stage productions over 15 years ago, initially helping out with the Milton Keynes Gang Show as Front of House crew, but soon saw the error of his ways and moved backstage a couple of years down the line.
In the following years his primary interest has bizarrely led to the Rig and Derig stages of the production, he claims to like the challenge of getting it right and last minute problem solving before the show, along with the 'how soon can we get out of here' at the end of the show run.
Rob is an electronic engineer by training employed as a Product Manager by one the largest global electronic companies, but his thorough apprenticeship means he can do most things electrical and mechanical too. His interest in extreme sports means that he has no problem with working at heights either.
